Cristiano Ronaldo Scores the Winning Goal in the Al Feiha vs Al Nassr Match, the Opposing Coach Thinks It’s Just Luck

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Cristiano Ronaldo scored his team’s only winning goal in the match Al Feiha vs Al Nassr in the first leg of the last 16 of the Asian Champions League on Thursday morning WIB, 15 February 2024. The Portuguese player produced a magical moment in the battle between the two Saudi Pro League clubs.

Ronaldo played a combination with his teammates in the 80th minute and received the ball back before firing it past goalkeeper Al Feiha. However, Al Feiha’s manager, Vuk Rasovic, considered Al Nassr’s victory to be just luck.

The win came at the right time for coach Luis Castro. They came under fire following their defeat to Al Hilal in the final of the Riyadh Season Cup. Therefore, this performance will increase his team’s confidence significantly.

The Serbian manager at the press conference after the match did not seem very impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo’s spectacular effort. “Luck helped Al Nassr score a goal,” he said as quoted by Essentially Sports.

This statement did not receive a good response. Many fans and supporters criticized the manager. However, in that match, Al Nassr was the far superior team. They had 77 percent possession of the ball and controlled the game from the start. They fired 14 shots compared to Al Feiha’s 2 shots, and both of Al Feiha’s attempts were off target.

What’s more, this is not a one-time result. In the Saudi Pro League, Al Feiha sits in 14th place in the standings. Al Nassr, on the other hand, is second and is competing for the title with Al Hilal. If you look at their performance this season, it is fair to say that Al Nassr deserved to win.

For Ronaldo, this was his 25th goal this season. An impressive achievement considering he is 39 years old. However, CR7 is not complacent and is targeting something special this season.

Following the win, Al Nassr player Aziz Behich said, “Our goal at Al Nassr is to win the AFC Champions League title.”

An ambitious statement but Ronaldo shares a similar view. “We have 5 months ahead, full of matches, and it will be difficult because there are decisive matches, but we will be able to achieve what we want.”

However, Al Nassr has never won this prestigious tournament. The closest they came was finishing runners-up in 1995. Their record in Asia is not great, with their last title being the Asian Super Cup in 1998.
