Death Floyd, Darnella’s courage: the girl who changed the world with a button

NEW YORK – The story will recall the stubbornness and courage of a 17-year-old African American student in a gray sweatshirt, blue pants and flip-flops, standing on Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He will remember her for changing the world, on the evening of May 25, 2020, by pressing the red ‘recorder’ button on the smartphone, held at the chin with both hands, to film the nine minutes and twenty-nine seconds in which a policeman held the knee pressed to the neck of a man, handcuffed, face down, who begged, “I can’t breathe.”
