Dramatic victory over Fiorentina takes Atalanta to the final

Jakarta (ANTARA) – A dramatic 4-1 victory over Fiorentina took Atalanta to the final of the Italian Cup, in the semi-final second leg match at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo, local Wednesday or early Thursday WIB.

These results bring The Dea bagged a 4-2 aggregate victory over the team from Florence, Fiorentina, as quoted on the official Italian League website.

Fiorentina, who won the first leg with a score of 1-0, attacked from the start in the second leg. Nico Gonzalez and Andrea Belotti tested home goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi, but it was Atalanta who took the lead in the eighth minute with their first chance.

Gianluca Scamacca sent a through ball to Teun Koopmeiners in a counter-attack scheme, and Koopmeiners was calmly able to beat goalkeeper Pietro Terraciano by directing the ball into the corner of the goal. This goal made the aggregate position 1-1.

Not long afterward, Atalanta scored another goal through Scamacca’s kick into the top corner of the goal. However, the goal was disallowed because Koopmeiners had previously fouled Lucas Beltran.

After that, both teams had several chances, but Atalanta’s lead remained 1-0 until halftime.

Surprisingly, Fiorentina, who appeared with ten players, was able to equalize in the 68th minute. Cristiano Biraghi’s free kick was met by Lucas Martinez’s header through the home goal. The aggregate score has now changed to 2-1 in favor of Fiorentina.

Atalanta again changed the score to 3-1 in the 95th minute. Ademola Lookman’s kick from a tight angle saw Fiorentina concede for the third time. The goal was checked for possible offside, but after a VAR review Lookman’s goal was still approved.
