An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded in southern Iran. The quake, which occurred at 8.07 local time and felt throughout the area, including in the United Arab Emirates, had its epicenter about 50 kilometers from the city of Bandar-e Lengeh, a port overlooking the Persian Gulf, 8 kilometers deep.
