Elections in Moldova, victory for Maia Sandu’s pro-European party: “It will be the end of the reign of thieves”

Maia Sandu continues to make history. After becoming the first female president of Moldova and Eastern Europe by winning the ballot last November, she managed to obtain the first pro-European parliamentary majority in the history of the former independent Soviet Republic. “I hope it is the end of a difficult era for Moldova, I hope it is the end of the reign of thieves”, wrote the 49-year-old former World Bank economist commenting on the results of the laws on Facebook
