England: the “Russian scandal” of the Queen’s cousin

by admin

New scandal in the British court. Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, was secretly recorded giving his willingness to use his status as a member of the Royal Family for personal gain: providing “access” and contacts to foreign entrepreneurs with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. The scoop is from the Sunday Times and Channel 4. The prince was secretly filmed during an online meeting on Zoom he had with fake entrepreneurs (actually undercover reporters) from his apartment in Kensington Palace.

The reporters pretended to be managers of a South Korean company, the “House of Haedong”, which was seeking contacts with the prince to increase the business network in the gold sector. Michael of Kent in the video says he is “really excited” to be able to work with the company and promote it in Russia. The agreed remuneration for the service would appear to be around 50,000 pounds for a five-day trip to Russia. The images also show a friend of the prince, the Marquis of Reading, sitting next to him on the sofa as he calls him “Her Majesty’s unofficial ambassador to Russia”.

The 78-year-old cousin of the queen hastened to deny, and to put the blame on his friend: his spokesman assured the press that “He has made inferences that Prince Michael would neither want nor could satisfy”. However, it seems that even the private secretary of Michael of Kent had assured reporters that the prince could open channels at the highest level in the Russian government: «We can certainly be of help in this regard. Even if you don’t have direct contact with the person you are interested in, there is always a way to go ».
