EU, criticism of Ursula von der Leyen: “We need clarity on text messages from the CEO of Pfizer”

BRUSSELS – The Ombudsman of the European Union Emily O’Reilly today accused the EU Commission of maladministration for failing to reveal to the public the text messages other than its president Ursula von der Leyen exchanged with Pfizer’s chief executive, Albert Bourla, in the negotiation that led to the 900 million euro purchase of Covid-19 vaccines, with an option for another 900 million.
