Fani Willis in court – Now Trump’s fate can be decided

– It’s a lie.

Fani Willis hits back hard against the accusations against her, when she explains herself in court in Georgia tonight.

The public prosecutor who has accused Donald Trump of extortion is standing trial himself.

Willis is accused of having an inappropriate affair with Nathan Wade, who is investigating the former president.

This could cause one of the criminal cases against Trump to be dropped. Ultimately, it could save his presidential candidacy.

Luxury trips and cash

On Thursday, Willis explains himself about the affair, which some American media call it a sex scandal.

Willis is now taking a strong stand against the accusations that she was forced to go on luxury trips Aruba, Bahamas, Belize and Napa Valley.

The central question in court is whether she herself made a good living from the salary of the Trump investigator she had appointed herself.

Now she is trying to prove that she made up for it in cash and that physical notes are completely normal for her to use.

– When we were growing up, dad had three safes in the house. So my father bought me a box, and I keep cash in the house, she says in court, according to the report CNN.

Can save Trump

Nathan Wade, with whom she allegedly had an affair, is central to the trial against Trump and 18 other people who were indicted last year for trying to change the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Trump’s lawyers believe this should mean that the case against the former president falls. Wade and Willis believe it has not affected the trial.

Wade has previously confirmed that they had a romantic relationship that began in 2022, after he got the job as a special investigator. He claims they both paid for the holidays they went on.

This is a different version than the one that appears in the divorce case between Wade and his ex-wife, where it is claimed that he paid for vacations with Willis.
