Finland and Sweden in NATO: what happens now and the possible consequences of entry

LONDON – Finland has announced the official request for NATO membership for next week. Sweden has announced that it will soon do the same. Russia has made it known that there will be retaliation, but not “hostile acts”: in the meantime, it has cut off the gas in Helsinki.
