LONDON. There are less than eight days before EU citizens residing in the United Kingdom can regulate themselves and maintain their acquired rights, from public health to the possibility of renting a house and looking for a job. It is the now famous “Settlement Scheme”, the only way for Europeans not to suddenly become irregular. The Deputy Minister for Immigration, Kevin Foster, recently assured Repubblica that a “certain flexibility” will be ensured for all those special cases that will exceed the deadline of June 30 and from today the British Ministry of the Interior has started sending letters to those tens of thousands who have not yet registered for the Settlement Scheme, giving an additional 28 days to settle.
