France, the battle over the windmills. Le Pen and the right against wind turbines

PARIS – Candidates take a lot (wind). While it is true that security and immigration are at the top of the priorities of the French, the development of wind energy has become another of the great themes of the presidential electoral campaign. Opponents, including Marine Le Pen but also a large part of the right, are very active in spreading more or less rational fears: wind turbines are accused not only of disfiguring the landscape but also of causing disturbances in the livestock of the countryside, or for offshore parks of destroying marine fauna.
