“Car Next Samurai Japan Series 2024 Japan vs Europe Representative” will be held on March 6th (Wednesday) and 7th (Thursday). The 28 members of Samurai Japan who will participate in this tournament were announced by coach Hirokazu Ibata.

Daiya Miyagi, Yoshihiro Kuribayashi, Sosuke Genda, Takumu Nakano, Munetaka Murakami, and Kensuke Kondo were selected from last year’s World Baseball Classic, which was at the top of the world. In addition, members of the Asian Professional Baseball Championship held last November, which Manager Ibata led and won, included Yufu Nemoto, Tomoichiro Sumida, Yuto Koga, Shogo Sakakura, Shota Morishita, Kaito Kozono, and Manami. Nakamasa was selected and will continue to play a central role in Ibata Japan.

Of note are pitchers Yuto Nakamura (Aichi Institute of Technology) and Yuto Kanamaru (Kansai University), infielder Rui Soyama (Meiji University), and outfielder Fumiyo Nishikawa (Aoyama Gakuin University). He is on the national team of college athletes. Coach Ibata, who served as a temporary coach for the Samurai Japan University National Team last year and also provided guidance and inspected the team, has long highly evaluated the abilities of the four players, saying, “It’s a plus to wear the top team’s uniform for once in preparation for the WBC and the Olympics.” “I thought that was the case,” he said, revealing that he intends to have effects in a variety of ways, including gaining experience in international games and absorbing information from the world‘s top players.

Four players were selected from university students.

The purpose of this tournament is to strengthen the team in preparation for the “Ragzasu Presents 3rd WBSC Premier 12” which will be held at Tokyo Dome and other venues this fall. Furthermore, through competitions with leading European athletes who have continued to make remarkable progress in recent years, we are looking to strengthen our capabilities for the next WBC (scheduled for 2026) and the Los Angeles Olympics (scheduled for 2028), including university students. Expectations are high for the success of these young players.
