The mystery of the American blogger on a traveling trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, in Wyoming, was resolved in the worst way. Official confirmation has come from the FBI that the remains of the body found Sunday in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Wyoming, belong to 22-year-old Gabby Petito. To have 100% certainty that it was her, we had to wait for the autopsy and the DNA test. Results arrived, and which dissolved the few doubts that the federal agents had: it was not an accident. On the contrary. They are convinced that the young woman “was killed”. A disturbing twist that has thickened suspicions about her boyfriend, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie, who has been missing for six days.
Gabrielle Petito was a travel blogger, born in Blue Point, New York, and then moved to Florida after meeting Brian in 2019. The two lived with his parents in North Port. They had always shared a passion for travel, which they organized together and posted videos and photos on their Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts where they were very popular.
The one that began last July 2 was for them to represent yet another adventure to be told every day on their social channels. A “coast to coast” trip to the United States aboard a white van converted into a camper, with a table, folding chairs, a camping stove and a tent for sleeping outdoors, to explain what “traveling as nomads” was like. The goal was to reach Oregon by the end of October, via Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. But something must have gone wrong.
Rewinding the tape of the trip, the investigators went back to August 19, the day when Gabby posted an eight-minute video on Youtube in which she recounted their days between excursions in the forests, sunsets, and places to be immortalized. A few days later, on August 26, a photo of them, a selfie, in which they appeared smiling, hugging and, apparently, happy.
In fact, the two had had a bad fight on August 12, in front of a supermarket in Utah. A fight so furious that a customer from the store called the police. “We are in love and we are about to get married,” the young men had told the agents. That night, however, the cops separated them, sending Brian to sleep in the hotel, so that the spirits would calm down. The matter seemed to be over there. So much so that the next day they met to resume the journey “on the road”, always in the white van. Half noticed by a video maker visiting Bridger-Teton Park, not far from the more famous Yellowstone.
As reported by the Cnn, of the girl were lost in late August. She was last seen inside Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, while on August 24 she made the last video call with her mother. His last post on “Instagram” dates back to 25 August. Alone. And Gabby? No logical answer or explanation. So the girl’s family reported her missing: 10 days later. It was September 11th.
Meanwhile, the boy was questioned by investigators as a “person of interest” but did not provide any information on where the young woman was. Then, last Tuesday, he too disappeared into thin air. The FBI ransacked the house and is now looking for him as suspect number one.
