“Due to the current tensions, especially between Israel and Iran, there is a risk of a sudden escalation. It cannot be ruled out that it will affect air, land and sea transport,” the German Foreign Ministry announced.

The statement added that German citizens face a concrete risk of arbitrary arrest and interrogation, after which they could receive longer prison terms.

As stated, persons with dual German-Iranian citizenship are particularly at risk.
