Germany, Scholz: “Voters want an SPD, Greens and Liberals coalition”

“The voters spoke very clearly. They said who should form the next government. Three parties have been strengthened, the Greens, the SPD and the Liberals and it is they who have the task of forming and leading the next government.” This was stated by the SPD candidate for the chancellery, Olaf Scholz, commenting on the outcome of the vote.

“We see here a very happy SPD! Two winners and one winner”, said Olaf Scholz, in a statement alongside Franziska Giffey, who yesterday won the elections in Berlin and will be the first mayor of the capital, and alongside the outgoing minister president Manuela Schwesig, who yesterday triumphed in the Land of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
