Germany, the elections of the two chancellors

In view of the federal elections on September 26, the picture is becoming so tangled that CDU sources speak of a “scenario of the two chancellors” that could emerge from the Sunday of the vote. The latest Forsa poll gives the conservative candidate, Armin Laschet, slightly recovering, at 21% and Olaf Scholz, the Social Democrat challenger, standing at 25%. So much so that Markus Soeder, the CSU leader allied with Laschet, said he “glimpsed a turnaround” and “the possibility of regaining the SPD”.
