Irmgard Furchner, a 96-year-old former secretary of the Stutthof concentration camp, was due to be tried today in Germany, one of the first women involved in Nazi-era crimes to be prosecuted in decades. But the woman did not appear in court and the judge issued an arrest warrant.
Furchner is accused of complicity in the murder of over 10,000 people in the Nazi camp in occupied Poland.
