According to the Xinhua News Agency, preliminary statistics released by the German Federal Statistics Office on the 8th showed that after working days and seasonal adjustments, German merchandise exports in August decreased by 1.2% month-on-month, which was the 15th consecutive month of month-on-month increase. The first month-on-month decrease; merchandise imports increased by 3.5% from the previous month.

The data also showed that in August, the value of German merchandise exports and imports rose by 14.4% and 18.1% year-on-year respectively.
