BUDAPEST – “Take that rainbow out of your backpack or I’ll stop you.” When Sofia Ferencz’s 16-year-old daughter came home from school, she was still shaking. A policeman stopped her on the street for carrying a tiny flag in solidarity with the LGBTQ + community and threatened to drag her to the police station. His mother, days later, is still shocked, but she knows she can’t do anything.
