Great Britain, the final farewell to Prince Philip

by admin

The funeral procession for the funeral of Prince Consort Philip, who died on Friday 9 April, has begun. The coffin, carried on the shoulders by 8 soldiers in full uniform, was initially placed on the hearse: an ad hoc modified Land Rover designed by the Duke of Edinburgh himself, with his Royal Navy veteran insignia.

The procession then covered the short journey between Windsor Castle and the annexed St Georg’s chapel, followed in procession by the heir to the throne Charles, Princess Anne and the other two children of the royal couple, as well as some grandchildren – including William and Harry, spaced apart – and by a son-in-law. Queen Elizabeth rode the route in a Bentley, which drove her straight to the church.
