O Grêmio beat Cuiabá1-0, this Saturday (20), at Arena do Grêmio, in Porto Alegre, in the third round of the Brazilian Championship.

The goal of the match was scored by midfielder Franco Cristaldo.

With the victory, Tricolor reached six points and moved up to second place in the Brasileirão. Dourado is at the bottom of the championship without any points. There are two defeats in two games played.

The game

Cuiabá started the match by putting pressure on Grêmio, threatening the opponent just two minutes into the first half with a shot from Matheus Alexandre, which skimmed the post.

At 18, Jonathan Cafú finished inside the small area and forced Grêmio goalkeeper Marchesín to make a great save.

In the 43rd minute of the first half, Franco Cristaldo crossed into the area, but no one touched the ball. Goalkeeper Walter missed the ball and let it pass. Grêmio’s number 10 goal opened the score, 1-0.

At the beginning of the second stage, Zé Guilherme, from Grêmio, and Marllon, from Cuiabá, had a head collision and needed to be treated on the pitch. A few minutes later, Zé Guilherme left and gave way to Fábio.

In the 6th minute, Cristaldo made good progress on the right and crossed to Soteldo, who finished first time, but over the goal. At 13 minutes into the second half, JP Galvão passed to João Paulo who finished strongly. The ball hit the net from the outside.

In the 46th minute of the second half, Matheus Alexandre made a good cross for Derik to head, but Marchesín made a good save to maintain Tricolor’s advantage.
