Haiti scourged by floods and gangs, the population takes justice into its own hands

The climate crisis adds up to the economic and social one, dragging Haiti into yet another black hole of despair. Torrential rains fell throughout last weekend, engulfing everything in their path with veritable rivers of mud and debris. The already difficult and precarious situation of the Caribbean island, scourged by violence, poverty, hunger and disease, made relief efforts impossible.
