On Monday evening, Luksusfellen profiler Hallgeir Kvadsheim writes on X that for 30 years he has thought he was a civil economist.

– But in the last six months of my education, I was on exchange from NHH at Bocconi in Milan and delivered final exams there. I realize I should have asked for final approval from Econa/NHH! Embarrassing!, the post says.

He writes that he himself has not used the title too often, since private economist/consumer economist is probably more comprehensive for what he does on a daily basis.

– It was hard to discover, even though I probably consider myself first and foremost a private economist/consumer economist, says Kvadsheim to VG.

Nevertheless, he will cut out the use of the title civil economist, in addition he asks that all partners must change their bio.

– A bit exaggerated? No, civil economist is a protected title and you must have a formal approval. It’s crazy that I didn’t take that round with Econa/NHH 30 years ago, but realize it’s too late now.

– At the same time, I hope that you can bear this mistake with me. Will continue to give my best independent financial advice, regardless of my title.

Hallgeir Kvadsheim is associated with Schibsted’s profile agency Max Social and is an economic expert for Dine Penger. VG is also owned by Schibsted. VG’s editorial assessments are made independently of this. An overview of bindings for profiles who do assignments for VG is located her.
