Parade audience: “The Irish always bring good luck, hope and prosperity, and there is nothing better than an Irish parade, it brings unity, which is exactly what this country needs.”
Parade audience: “I hope everyone can use this parade to unite and love and bring some happiness to the world.”
After a two-year hiatus, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns to New York City’s Fifth Avenue, bringing a sea of green. The theme of this year’s parade is “Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of September 11th and the Victims of the Epidemic”.
The parade leader is James Callahan, president of the International Federation of Operational Engineers.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul and State Attorney General Letitia James attended the parade; New York Mayor Eric Adams walked in the city police line with New York City Police Chief Keechant Sewell.
There are also cabaret performances by bands from community groups, schools and more.
Parade audience: “Yes, the band, their music and dancing are great.”
Parade audience: “I’ve been watching this parade since 1983, and I stand in this corner every year, so I’ve missed this parade for the past two years, and I’m glad the parade is back.”
Parade small audience: “It’s fun!”
Parade audience: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day! (English and Irish)”
