Hu Chu responded via Twitter on Tuesday that she agreed with Cuomo’s resignation and that she was ready to take her place.
“As a person who has served in all levels of government and is the next successor, I am ready to lead the work as the 57th Governor of New York State,” she wrote.

Hu Chu is a resident of Buffalo and a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives. During her two terms as lieutenant governor, she spent most of her time in the state and represented the government at official events.
The Wall Street Journal quoted a source as saying that since the New York State Attorney General issued Cuomo’s sexual harassment report, Hu Chu began to take the first measure after taking office, as well as who to hire and which members of Cuomo’s team might Continue to stay in office to seek external advice.

Senator Charles Schumer, the majority leader of the Senate and Democrat of New York State, said on Tuesday that Governor Cuomo’s resignation was the right decision and was in the interests of the people of New York.
At the same time, he also expressed his trust in Hu Chu, saying that he believed she could establish a professional and capable state government.
