According to reports, the statement stated that after a comprehensive review of the incident after Hurricane Ida made landfall and multiple investigations, the New Orleans Coroner’s Office confirmed 11 other storm-related deaths. Among them, 9 people died due to the “high temperature during the prolonged power outage”; the remaining two deaths were related to carbon monoxide poisoning. The department said that deaths related to high temperature involved people between 64 and 79 years of age.
