Iceland, majority of women in Parliament. It is a record in Europe

A Parliament with more women than men, the first in Europe. The new Althingi, the unicameral Icelandic Parliament, will have 33 legislators out of 63 seats, the only country on the old continent where women will be over 50 percent. Thus, with the political elections held yesterday, Iceland confirms itself as a world vanguard country in gender equality and in the public role of women, as the UN and NGOs have classified it for 12 years.
