A man pronounced dead after a car accident in India was found alive but in critical condition after a night spent in a hospital cold room. Paris Match reveals it. Srikesh Kumar, 45, was rushed to a private clinic after being hit by a motorcycle in Moradabad, east of New Delhi. Declared dead by a doctor upon his arrival at the clinic, he was then taken to a public hospital for an autopsy on Friday.

“The emergency room doctor examined him. He did not find any signs of life and therefore declared him dead, ”said the medical director of the hospital Rajendra Kumar. The body was then placed in a cold room until the family arrived six hours later. “When a police team and his family came to initiate administrative procedures for the autopsy, he was found alive,” he added. The man is still in a coma. “It’s nothing but a miracle,” said the hospital director. An investigation is underway to understand how a diagnostic error was possible.
