SORONG (INDONESIA) – At least 18 people, police said, were killed after a clash between two local groups triggered a fire in a nightclub in Sorong, in the Indonesian province of West Papua. One of the victims was stabbed and the other 17 died in the “Double O” nightclub fire. “We found 17 bodies at Double O, they were on the first floor. We moved the bodies to the hospital,” said Edward Panjaitan of the Sorong Police Health Division. “The club caught fire from the first floor. We tried to evacuate as many people as possible, but after the firefighters put out the fire we found some bodies,” added the police chief.
