An earthquake measuring 7.2 was recorded off the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia, reported the US Geological Survey, triggering a tsunami warning. The quake’s epicenter was located 150 kilometers northwest of the island of Halmahera, in the sea, at a depth of 60 kilometers. The NWS Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has warned that “dangerous tsunami waves are possible” 300 kilometers from the epicenter.
