Intense snowstorm in California and Nevada: Yosemite National Park closed

(LaPresse) In the United States, a powerful storm is hitting California and Nevada, with heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada and winds and intense rain at lower altitudes. Tens of thousands of users remained without electricity and a stretch of approximately 160 kilometers of Interstate 80 was closed until further notice.
Yosemite National Park was closed Friday and authorities said it will remain closed until at least noon local time Sunday. Forecasters predict up to 10 feet of snow could fall over the weekend in the mountains around Lake Tahoe, between 3 feet and 6 feet in lakeside communities and 12 inches in valleys on the Sierra’s eastern front, including Reno.
