Inventions for the Environment, Prince William rewards the city of Milan for the collection of unused food

LONDON – An international award forenvironment created by Prince William and the Royal Foundation, the foundation of the royal family, went to the city of Milan for a system of collection of unused food from supermarkets and restaurants in order to distribute it to needy citizens in collaboration with local NGOs. The initiative, called Milan Food Waste Hub, recovers 130 tons of food a year, or 350 kilos a day, the equivalent of 260,000 meals.
