Iran’s President-elect Ibrahim Lacey: We will support nuclear negotiations on the non-negotiable ballistic missile program | Iran News

by admin

Iran’s President-elect Ibrahim Lacey said, “The new government will support the nuclear agreement negotiations in Vienna, but the new government will not tie Iran’s future to it, and we will not accept negotiations that consume energy.”

Lacey said at the first press conference after winning the election that the Americans are the ones who withdrew from the nuclear agreement. They must return to the agreement first, and the Europeans have not fulfilled the promises they made in the past. The Iranian people demanded them. Implement the contents of the agreement and do not succumb to pressure from the United States.

He emphasized that his government will work to “lift all sanctions imposed on Iran.”

Lacey emphasized that the world should realize that a policy of maximum pressure on Iran will not work. The situation has changed after the presidential election.

He added: “Our foreign policy will not start with the nuclear agreement, nor will it end with it. We emphasize that it will link Iran and all countries with extensive and balanced exchanges.”

Lacey emphasized that Iran does not oppose the resumption of diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. The first task of the new government is to improve relations with neighboring countries. He called on Saudi Arabia to immediately stop interfering in Yemeni affairs.

Lacey also said: “Although the West and Gulf countries have requested that Iran’s ballistic missile program be included in the ongoing nuclear negotiations in Vienna, there is no room for negotiation on the plan.”

In terms of internal affairs, the president-elect emphasized that the new government will focus on fulfilling the demands of the Iranian people, improving the people’s living standards and economic conditions, and fighting corruption.

He added: “We still have problems with poor management, lack of attention to young people, and lack of justice. Therefore, we hope to improve the domestic environment, reduce the burden on the people, and restore their confidence in the government.”

He emphasized that the widespread participation of the people in the recent elections has sent a message to the world that the people adhere to the principles of the Islamic Revolution.

In response to questions from some human rights organizations asking him to be tried, Lacey said that he should be rewarded for defending the rights and safety of the people.

He said that as a legal person, he “always defended human rights,” adding that the United States imposed sanctions on his alleged violation of human rights because of his work as a judge.

According to the final results of the election announced by the Interior Minister Abdul Reza Rahmani Fazli on Saturday, Lacey won the presidential election of the Republic of Iran after garnering 17,926345 votes out of 2,8933,000 votes.

The current President Hassan Rouhani is expected to hand over his position to the new President in 45 days.
