THE RECENT boom in attacks in the Democratic Republic of Congo is linked to the presence of foreign fighters pro-Isis, from Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi. These were called to the African country to teach the local jihadists of Iscap (the province of the Islamic State of Central Africa) how to make homemade bombs (IEDs), belts and explosive clothes. A further worsening of the security situation in the nation is therefore expected, already at a dramatic level in the country where the Italian ambassador Luca Attanasio was killed on 22 February.
