A new Israeli MP, Shirly Pinto, was recently sworn in to the Knesset. It was a very different ceremony from the past: from the seats of the Knesset, he swore in sign language. He speaks with his hands, while his translator gives voice to his gestures: “I swear, in my name and in the name of all disabled citizens”.
