On the other hand, the Japan Broadcasting Association quoted Health Minister Norihisa Tamura as saying that as the fifth wave of the epidemic gradually improves, the authorities are ready to lift the state of emergency in at least some areas at the end of the month.

Currently, Tokyo and 18 other prefectures and prefectures are in a state of emergency.

Japan added 2,134 cases yesterday (27th), which is much less than the peak of 25,860 cases reached on the 20th of last month. Of these, 299 cases were from Tokyo.
