Jerusalem, found a rare 2000 year old amethyst

JERUSALEM – A rare stone from the Second Temple period (597 BC-70 AD) was found in Jerusalem with the balsam tree carved. The small lilac-colored stone is also engraved with a bird, probably a dove, and a branch with five fruits. The seal was recently recovered in the ground of an excavation conducted along the foundations of the Kotel (Western Wall).
