About 100 people were killed last night in Solhan in northern Burkina Faso. This is the bloodiest attack since the beginning of jihadist violence in the country in 2015, according to security sources. The death toll, between men and women, is still provisional. According to a local source, the attack “first targeted the post” of the auxiliaries of the army, then the homes of the inhabitants who were killed. The attack took place in the village of Solhan, in the northern Sahel region, according to security sources cited by RFI. The attackers also burned down the houses and the market.
On Friday evening, another 14 people were killed in the village of Tadaryat, also in northern Burkina Faso. An army auxiliary was among the victims.
