Joe Biden is not only praised after the “State of the Union”: – Is on some form of drugs

The “State of the Union” address is simply an annual “update” from the sitting president on the state of the United States. Such an update is constitutional.

In the beginning, it was customary for the president to deliver a written report to Congress, but Woodrow Wilson was the first to address Congress, starting the tradition, which has become a way to rally support for the president’s policies and opinions, according to website of the House of Representatives.

Biden’s speech, which was somewhat delayed, did not contain the big surprises, he reiterated the importance of further support for Ukraine, boasted of the US economy throughout his presidency, as well as highlighted the importance of women’s reproductive rights and the right to abortion, according to Fox News.

Biden also addressed the situation at the border with Mexico, where a record number of migrants crossed the border ever in December, writes CNN.

Bowing and interruptions

During the speech, the atmosphere was good among the Democrats, and the speech is criticized for looking more like an election campaign event.

From the Republicans, on the other hand, the speech was received less positively.

Throughout the speech, Biden had to endure both booing, interruptions and rolling his eyes, writes New York Post.

At one point he was interrupted by Republicans to “say the name” of Laken Riley. Riley was a nursing student who was killed by an immigrant who was in the United States illegally when she was jogging in the state of Georgia, writes Fox News.

When Biden was interrupted, he held up a pin with Riley’s name on it that he had been given by Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.

– I know how to say her name, continued Biden. Then it stopped.

– To her parents, I want to say that I feel for you. Having lost children myself, I understand, Biden continued.

“Why does he talk so fast?”

Toward the end of the hour-long speech, Biden addressed his age, a topic that continues to be in the air amid concerns about the president’s mental and physical health.

– During my career, I have been told that I am too young. I’ve been told I’m too old. Dear Americans, the problem facing our nation is not how old we are, but how old our ideas are. Hate, anger, revenge and retribution are among the oldest ideas. But you can’t lead America with ancient ideas that only take us back to the old world, Biden said, according to the report New York Post.

Biden was apparently in good shape during the speech and spoke quickly and with a clear voice. Some social media users reacted to the president’s form.

“No joke, this man is on some kind of drug, why is he talking so fast?”, wrote one.

“I know it’s late and that Biden wants to get this over with, but he’s moving too fast. He needs to slow down,” wrote Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary for George W. Bush.
