British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will today announce the end of the anti-Covid restrictions in Britain. This was reported by the Guardian, which recalls the opposition to the reopening by the scientific community according to which reopening would mean “building new factories of variants”.

According to the newspaper, in the press conference scheduled for this afternoon from Downing Street BoJo should confirm a “personal” management of anti-Covid measures: with 86% of adults having received at least the first dose, the London government would like to remove the restrictions legal and leave to the individual for example the choice of where to wear the mask, keeping it mandatory only in hospitals and health facilities.

The changes that will be announced would also include the possibility for immunized people to travel to permitted countries without quarantine upon return. There is no quarantine even for the immunized who have been in contact with a positive person.

Meanwhile, the cases of covid attributable to the Delta variant of Sars-Cov-2 have almost quadrupled in less than a month in Great Britain. 161,981 cases have been identified so far in that country, 46 percent of which were registered in the last week. In Britain, the variant sequenced for the first time in India accounts for 95 per cent of cases today. “Even if the infections are increasing, we are not seeing a proportional increase in hospitalizations. The data confirm the success of the vaccination campaign conducted so far and clearly demonstrate the importance of receiving both doses of the vaccine, ”said Jenny Harries, head of the UK Health Security Agency.
