Bisnis.comJAKARTA – Ibrahim Saadeh emphasized that Jordan will appear confident when facing South Korea in the 2023 Asian Cup semifinals at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Tuesday (6/2/2024) evening.

Jordan previously made history by qualifying for the Asian Cup semifinals for the first time. Saadeh emphasized that even though he has qualified for the semifinals, his team does not want to stop making history in the 2023 Asian Cup tournament.

“We are very happy to have reached the semifinals,” said Saadeh. “It is an honor for us to have come this far. “It does put pressure on us, but we are well trained and ready to reach the final.”

“Maybe many people didn’t expect our team to make it this far, but we are sure we can go far in this competition. Of course this puts pressure on us, but we are ready to rewrite history.”

Saadeh believes that the match against South Korea in the semifinals of the 2023 Asian Cup will be difficult. However, he is ready to give his best even if he comes from the bench.

“This will be a difficult match. The technical staff and players are all ready to reach the final.”

“The coaches, assistant coaches and technical staff have all helped us review previous games and identify our mistakes.”

“As a player, of course I am ready to play if selected and for sure I will give everything to help Jordan qualify for the next stage.”

Meanwhile in the South Korean camp, coach Juergen Klinsmann has prepared the worst for the penalty shootout, like when he beat Saudi Arabia.

“There are a lot of factors that are important to go far in this tournament and we are preparing well. We start in Seoul on December 26 to build fitness and we only have two players injured at the moment. We are very hungry.”

“It’s about physical and mental, but also the spirit of the group… This is a marathon and we are approaching the end of the marathon. Hopefully we can win it all.”
