Lakers win…but LeBron ducks after Curry’s offer

The Lakers know how to get by without LeBron James. In the second game this month without The King, those in purple and gold easily beat the Utah Jazz in their last game before the All-Star break (122-138). The collective team looked collective in an extraordinary choral performance with up to six players in double figures, with Anthony Davis without hiding with 37 points and 15 rebounds and Rui Hachimura filling LeBron’s star void next to the Ceja with 36 points and a 6/8 in triples. The first Laker couple to score at least 35 points since Kobe and Shaq in 2003.

LeBron, very astute, chose the ideal day to be absent, officially out due to ankle discomfort in this back-to-back for the Lakers: just hours before, Adrian Wojnarowski published that the Warriors wanted to pair him with Stephen Curry this same season with Draymond Green as instigator.

And LeBron’s play couldn’t have turned out better, getting rid of journalists’ questions and seeing how capable the Lakers are without him. But, with the All-Star already here, the ’23’ has a hard time getting rid of the barrage of questions.

Diligent and constant as always, Austin Reaves scored 22 points, completing the double-digit club a D’Angelo Russell brilliant with 11 points and 17 assists, Taurean Prince (11 points) and the newcomer Spencer Dinwiddie (10).

The Utah Jazz surpassed the Lakers in number of players in double figures with seven, with Collin Sexton as the top scorer with 18 points, followed by Jordan Clarkson with 17. However, it did not help them to repeat the January victory in Salt Lake City against those in purple and gold, who go into the break ninth with 30-26.
