Player South Korean national team Lee Kang-in reportedly noisy with Son Heung-min during the 2023 Asian Cup. The Paris Saint-Germain star also apologized.

The incident occurred before the semifinal match 2023 Asian Cup between Korea and Jordan last week. A commotion occurred at the group eating session.

Three players, namely Lee Kang-in, Seol Young-woo, and Jung Woo-young hurriedly finished their meal with the excuse of wanting to play ping-pong. Son is reportedly not happy with the attitude of his three colleagues.

As captain, Son then tried to ask them to return. However, a commotion then broke out and Son reportedly grabbed Lee by the collar.

Lee tried to hit Son, but was blocked. The two players then separated and in the process Son injured his finger and had to wear a bandage during the match.

Lee opened his voice about the news of the commotion. The 22 year old midfielder also apologized for his attitude.

“There were reports that I had an argument with Son ahead of the Asian Cup semifinals,” Lee wrote on his social media account, as reported by the Mirror.

“I have disappointed all the football fans who support the national team. I am sorry. I should have listened to the senior players and I apologize for not showing a good attitude.”

“I apologize to the many people who were disappointed with me. I am very aware of how attached the fans are to me as a player. From now on, I will try to support the senior players and become a better player and person.”

South Korea was ultimately eliminated from the 2023 Asian Cup after losing 0-2 to Jordan in the semifinals. The defeat buried South Korea’s hopes of ending the Asian Cup title drought that had lasted 64 years.
