TRIPOLI – The general Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army that controls Benghazi and Cyrenaica, is expected to announce his candidacy in the presidential elections on December 24th in the next few hours. The anticipation was given by Saudi-owned TV “Al Arabiya“. According to sources from the Dubai-based TV, in United Arab Emirates, Haftar went to the polling station in Salah Eddine’s school in Benghazi, the capital of eastern Libya, to collect his electoral card in preparation for his official candidacy.
