London, the conflict between the royals continues even in the Easter photos

by admin

LONDON – The photo of the queen on the occasion of Easter is one of the traditions that mark the English calendar. This year has turned, at least in the London newspapers, into yet another reason for conflict within the royal family. Not by the will of the Windsors. But now the media have decided that a war worthy of an entire season of “The Crown” is underway. And there is probably some truth in the rest, so it’s no wonder the tabloids get married there.

The image chosen by Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Easter holiday is captivating: Elizabeth II, green loden with a cape, a handkerchief on his head, a beautiful smile and certainly not the air of someone who is about to turn (on the 21st of this month) 95 years, together with his eldest son, Prince Charles, his heir to the throne, in a classic camel coat, walking in the grounds of Windsor Castle. From the way they are dressed it is clear that, after a flash of heat, cold temperatures have returned to England. However, the sun is shining and, in the background, there is a magnificent tree in bloom: it is definitely spring. With its implicit message of hope, which the United Kingdom, and not only it, needs after a year of pandemic, which can be seen here at the end of the tunnel (thanks to 36 million people vaccinated with at least one dose ).

So far, everything was fine, indeed everything was normal. But on the same pages the national press also publishes a photo, let’s say Easter, of principe Harry, in slightly different clothing and poses: baseball cap worn with the visor backwards, shorts, feet in the water and a ball to throw at the dog, on a beach in California. On the one hand, His Majesty and the first in line for the throne, taken up in all the dignity of their role, as they offer a reassuring smile to the people; on the other hand, the rebellious nephew who from voluntary exile has recently accused the monarchy of racism and gives the idea of having a good time on the Pacific shore. Truth be told, Harry didn’t do anything wrong. Should he refrain from walking the dog, so as not to hurt the susceptibility of the fans of the royal family? But whatever he does now has the newspapers against. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words: and the two photos compared express a clear verdict against him and Meghan. To keep silent about the dog, that poor thing has nothing to do with it. Happy Easter!
