Los Angeles, tram crashes in Universal Studios park: 15 injured. The police: “There was a problem with the brakes”

Fifteen people were injured and taken to hospital at Universal Studios Hollywood last night following an accident involving one of the trams used at the theme park. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said on their social media profiles that the emergency occurred around 9pm local time.

This is made known Bbc, which also quotes Police Lieutenant Maria Abal on the dynamics of the accident, according to which the last car of the tram hit a track while going down a hill in a car park. “There was some kind of problem with the brakes,” Abal said, adding: “We still don’t know exactly what it was.”

As at many theme parks, Universal Studios Hollywood’s trams transport people from attraction to attraction and are also used for guided tours. It is unclear what service the tram was operating at the time of the crash.
