Ludmila Javorová, a female priest in Communist Czechoslovakia

BERLIN – There was also a woman ordained a priest in the underground Catholic Church persecuted in Czechoslovakia by Communism after the Soviet invasion. But he didn’t just risk being arrested by the StB, the ruthless political police. It was rejected by the official church, in the name of theology and therefore of the orthodox positions of the Holy See against the ordination of women to the priesthood.
