A world championship title in 1985 and two Olympic victories almost ten years later made ski racer Markus Wasmeier a sports legend. The fact that the son of a Lüftl painter and restorer always wanted to become a craftsman suited Wasmeier to his passion project after his active time: he founded a local museum in his birthplace on Schliersee in Bavaria. The now 60-year-old is a critical observer of the international ski circuit, which causes him great concern, especially in light of climate change.
