PARIS. The anti-terrorism prosecutor asked today, at the trial for the massacres of 13 November 2015 in France (130 dead in Paris and Saint-Denis) for life imprisonment with a maximum security prison term against Salah Abdeslam, the only surviving member of the commandos jihadists. The request provides for the impossibility of any penalty discount during the period of maximum security, a very rare sanction in France but requested “given the immense gravity of the facts” contested to Salah Abdeslam, 32, French.

Nine gunmen and suicide bombers struck within minutes of each other at the French national football stadium, the Bataclan concert hall and Paris restaurants and cafes. Salah Abdeslam, is the key defendant among those tried for the deadliest attack in France since World War II and is the only one accused of murder. The same Islamist network continued to hit Brussels months later, killing 32 other people.
