The man was attending to the 10-month-old baby on the afternoon of November 1, when emergency teams answered a 911 call from his Brooklyn residence and found the baby unconscious. The autopsy concluded that the cause of death had been an overdose of fentanyl and heroinalthough it was not possible to determine how she took the substances.
Five months later, on April 15, the father was arrested on charges of involuntary homicide and manslaughter. Over 20 years ago, the writer’s son confessed to stealing $ 3,000 from a drug dealer.
